Unfortunately, things have changed with the new management, the new vet is not very polite/friendly and it seems the assistants are mirroring his new disposition. Most recently, I stopped to buy flea and heart worm meds, and her records were inaccurate. During another visit to purchase flea med, there client there with his dog (not my pet) coming in for an emergency. The dog had been shot, we rang the bell for nearly 5minutes and no one responded. We literally had the bang on the back window to get them to open the door. Too many red flags- 1) new isn’t necessarily better and 2) too many rules and abrupt changes will usually will walk your clients right out of the door. I would suggest the new management recognize that customer service is not an option, it is a necessity.
I have been a loyal client for more than 10 years. Dr. Giles is an excellent vet, he is very matter of fact and doesn’t beat around the bush, and his fee for service is fair. For whatever we have needed in the last ten years, he has been able to provide excellent and quality care.
Was told that x-rays were needed to check the swelling in my dogs face and that a consult was needed. After $600 they told me it was consistent with infection and gave me some medication. After trying to stuff tablets down my poor dogs swollen throat for 2 days and not seeing any improvement I had to take him to my vet. He drained the what turned out to be an abscess and gave me liquid antibiotic and I started seeing results immediately. Do not take your animals here. They take advantage of the fact you probably have nowhere else to go and you don't know what to do.
Our vet was out of town, so we were referred to Hudspeth. Called made sure they would see us, did NOT request an emergency visit. However, when my husband got there they took him as an emergency and charged us as such. $ 450.00. The dog had cut her paw, it needed to be seen, but this is price gouging at it's best.
They would rather let your animal die than treat it just because you aren't a regular client... Doesn't matter if you have cash in hand. Explain to a child why her animal DIED because she wasn't your client!!!! My rating is actually NO STARS!!!!!!!!
0stars bad place to take anything you care about, sub par care at a premium price. staff seems compassionate but looks can be deceiving would never return there
