The Lady 'Ms. Marjorie' stated that she sees no patient responsibility in my account and she is unaware why this was sent to a collections department. However, she did oblige by removing that as well as making a note to medical records to send my records to my insurance company.
Special thanks to Dr. Greene, big Mike for helping me get in and out of the wheelchair and bed (I'm a bigger guy so it looked like we were dancing) and to Ms. Debbie who was the absolute sweetest.

Nobody wants to go to the ER, but if you have to go...go here. Have your paperwork ready.
2. I am happy with the was things are handled personally when someone calls you on the phone. However in case of any issues, why is the hospital staff not willing to contact the patient on their phone (if they can send phone numbers to collections depts, they can call me directly).
A month later I receive a bill of about 1500$, with a courtesy statement that the hospital is willing to give me a discount considering my uninsured status. I call the Patient accounts again and they say that the Coliseum Hospital does not have my insurence information, even thought it has been provided to the Coliseum Northside Medical Center. Anyways, I provide the information again.
These things need to be addressed and communications needs to be better.
A rating. The best hospital hands down. The ER check in process was swift. Very systematic and comprehensive. The Staff and Doctors were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions for my mothers health. The RNs were friendly brought my mother warm blankets and checked in on her. After the explanation of all the test she was discharged and they offered to wheel chair her to our car.
The experience with this hospital in regards to to communication is turning out to be nightmare. I visited the ER on 3/26/17,. The service was great. However, I did not have my insurance information with me at that time. I called the patient account later and provided them the information, also faxed them a copy of my card.
FAST! I was seen the moment I walked in the door. They quickly took my vitals, got my info and processed me. They were friendly, but when you feel like hell speed and accuracy is what really mattered to me. I can make friends when I am healthy! :-p
Regards
1. Why would a patient accounts have a loophole wherein my name was sent to collections department despite me having no patient responsibility and you not providing my insurance with the necessary information is beyond my understanding.
Horrible, very degrading, especially if poor, elderly and no money. They just stand around, have their own conversations, make fun of you, don't want to touch you, rush you, make out like you are not sick, better to stay at home and just die.
So I called my insurance company, who says they haven't reimbursed the hospital as they have not yet provided with my ER medical records, despite requesting them multiple times. Then I again call the Hospital to see if that is true and why is collections agency calling me.
My husband and my sister both had surgery at Coliseum Northside within a year of each other. The staff could not have been any more professional, pleasant, and courteous for both admissions. We are extremely impressed with the loving care that our family received. We highly recommend this hospital.
Over the past 1 week, I have been getting calls from collection agency stating that I owe the hospital about 540$, which should not be the case as all ER visits should be covered with a minimal copy of 100 $ as far as my knowledge of my benefits goes.
