Great ice cream! Clean, well-lit establishment in beautiful downtown! There are also a couple of tables outside. I went by on July fourth and a lady with a camera interviewed me...of course you can't reasonably expect that kinda treatment every day.
Great premium quality ice cream. I would not call it the best that I've ever had, but it is better than what you normally get served and some of the flavors are unique.
They source to a local dairy, according to a clerk, but eventually will make it in store. Try the cinnamon, it's delicious.
Some flavors are ok. Some are disgusting. Depending on who the staff is you mY get good service, its a gamble. Entirely too overpriced. They're robbing you and the ice cream isn't necessarily worth the price.
Self-billed as a "Wonderful Christ Filled Family Ice Cream Shop", this place is just unbelievably bad. There's a deceptively cute storefront and very nice colorful cow paintings hanging up inside, but before you notice those, the smell of industrial cleaning product hits you. Funny thing is, the X-Mart on Emery Highway uses the exact same stuff to clean up the man chowder in the 'jack shack' portion of their porn store. The odor is unmistakable (I briefly worked at X-Mart). Anyway, this heavily Christian-oriented ice cream joint has bible verses on display everywhere and predictably awful religious music playing constantly. The prices are ridiculous. Ever heard of paying $8.50 for a milk shake (before tax)? My friend got one, I passed because I'd heard the ice cream at this place was substandard. As soon as he got the shake, we immediately fled the place to get away from the excruciating music. After taking a sip, he handed it to me, saying, "Try it...it's not good." I honestly thought he was joking. Who ever heard of BAD ICE CREAM? It doesn't exist. Or so I thought! Amazingly, it actually sucked. The flavor was weak, and there was a gritty texture to it (Ice? Undissolved sugar? Who knows...). My friend sat there angrily drinking his lousy expensive milk shake on the porch of The Rookery - who, by the way, sell excellent shakes with locally sourced ingredients for a more reasonable price. About halfway into his milkshake nightmare, he accidentally knocked the cup over. Normally, this would be a bad thing, but he didn't seem to mind. It was garbage anyway. Lesson learned: Avoid this place at all costs.
