From anniversaries two new babies to religious events this is our go-to special event restaurant your sushi is the best I've had it in New York and different parts of the country even out of the country still the best sushi around
First off this place is called Shogun not Shotgun! I wish I'd noticed that before barging in with my 12 gauge forest terrorizer. They serve a warm, bitter, Norwegian beverage called sushi. If you've never gaggled down a slice of sushi then this is the place to earn your stripes...your yellow stripes! I'm told the average sushi is made from wistleberry leaves, clam innards, tuna nougat and a sweet, stinky chili reduction for added looks. My server was named Gus and she was definitely sincere, direct and prompt while going over the assembly instructions for the curio cabinet that I brought in with me. All in all it was a good visit and to think I never even made it in to check out the bathroom and the area behind the toilet. Sometimes people leave things back there!
Food delicious, wait staff paid more attention to friends, bit pricey considering service quality.
I scheduled a reservation for here a week in advance and upon arrival I was told they were unable to find a reservation for my party. After speaking with a manager she apologized for the inconveniences although she has no idea of what happened. We were finally able to be seated about an hour and half later. Although this initially caused much frustration, I sincerely appreciate the manager for going an extra mile to accommodate us. She also brought out free appetizers due to a delay in a chef being available. She offered to provide a meal for the birthday guest in the party. This truly turned a bad experience into a pleasant one. The chef was friendly and my party left happy. I would like to thank the manager and staff for everything. This is one of my favorite places and I hope they are able to get more help for busy weekends like today.
All of the food selections are excellent and service is typically on point. The food is priced reasonably. The sushi, in my opinion, is the best selection, quality, and taste in the area, however I have not tried everywhere. Would be more stats but their hibachi grill experience sometimes leaves more to be desired.
