Colorful restaurant. The empty tables were decorated. The table we were sat at was very plain with a disposable white plastic table cloth. The menu was pretty straightforward, but didn't offer much of a description of the items. No refillable drinks except for water and sweet tea. There's an automatic 20% gratuity for groups of 4 or more. The staff was a little rude when the young girl in our group just wanted chicken tenders. They only offer it on the kid's menu and were completely unwilling to serve her chicken tenders even when offered more money for them. At one point, one of the servers completely ignored my mother when she asked for ranch for her wings. Another server told her the cook gets insulted if you dip it in another sauce because he perfectly seasons the food.
The food was actually really good, but the resistance while ordering was very frustrating. It was an interesting experience, but we definitely won't be going back.
Even though I have never tasted their food, I am more than confident they can't beat the authenticity of Jamaica or NY. What has prompted me to give this place one star is, they never have anything, and the hostess is rude! All I ever wanted the three times I tried to eat there was a brown stew snapper w/ rice and peas and plantains meal. Instead, I got all the excuses as to why I could not have it! Either it's too late to cook the fish(even though there was ample time because I know seafood is made to order) or there's no more seafood! The host even went back to the kitchen one time to come back out to tell me that the chef said it's too late to brown stew the snapper. It's irritating, to say the least. I've lost interest in going to eat there but would highly recommend them changing their hostess/server, and I'm not talking about the Carribean lady! She is nice.
Loved the ambiance. The staff very nice and sociable. They were willing to my our visit a great one. The food was delicious and plentiful. Enough food for a second meal.
The food is okay, could be a little better authentic Jamaican food but it works when you don't have much other options. The main thing that would help the business Thrive more, would be for them to definitely work on their customer service. The females don't necessarily speak to you unless you are going to order something, and then they barely speak then. Customer service is key and a lot of the businesses in this town could use a little. Especially when you are paying nearly 18 to $20 for a single plate that's half filled with oil.
I can't say enough great things about this place. The atmosphere is great, the customer service is amazing, management is the best, and the food is beyond words! If you have not been here, you are missing out! I have family that comes from Atlanta to eat here. Everything is delicious! You can't go wrong choosing one thing over another. The oxtails are a must (with the veggies and peas and rice) and the mango passion cheesecake... OMG! Just get there and thank me later!!!
