I just had no choice but to stay in this dump because of hurricane Irma. There was a slight problem when I checked in, but was resolved for a while. When I went into the room, it was disgusting. When I was outside I was talking to somebody a few doors away from me and they told me they checked in yesterday and as soon as they went in they went right to the store and got disinfectant to clean the bathroom. Later on while I was watching TV I just started to smell cigarette smoke and this was a non-smoking room. So between the filthiness of the bathroom and the cigarette smoke in the room I called customer relations of choice and issued a complaint. They called and spoke to the manager of the motel and he knocked on my door. I asked him to come in and which he did and I said to him take a breath and tell me what you smell and he said what's the problem. I said to him don't you smell cigarette smoke and he said no so I said well between the cigarette smoke and the bat the bathroom I said this place is awful so his reply was if you don't like it leave which I want you to do in within 10 minutes or I'm calling the police. So I asked him where am I supposed to go and he said he didn't care. So when I went to the desk to turn in my key I was talking to the front desk manager and I was pleading my case to him where am I supposed to go. I told him that I told the manager that I would check out the first thing in the morning but the manager said 10 minutes so I didn't know what to do. The front desk manager had a little bit more compassion than the motel manager and he said to me that if I would sign something that I took back the complaint against the motel he would let me stay the night so I said fine I will sign it. So I signed the paper saying that I took back my complaint just so that I could stay the night and everything was fine. But little do they realize I am going to issue a formal complaint to choice about the manager saying that I had no alternative than to leave or he was calling the police I didn't do anything wrong all I did was say that the place was not livable. So to make a long story short do not and I repeat do not stay in this dump.
We were evacuating and needed a place to call home for few days. This place has great hospitality. It's being updated so not all rooms are as pictured. It's a work in progress. Our first night was spent at another Macon Econo lodge that was gross, and didn't accommodate my non smoking reservation. Although verified in 2 phone calls. Anyway this place here is worth paying the $47 we paid, and will be very nice after full renovation. No bugs.
Room was nice. You can tell it's older by the front and the bathrooms need updating. Overall, very awesome deal
I WAS ROBBED. I stayed here for one night trying to get home from Irma. I never got my rewards points, and I had to call them to remind them. Not only did they not change anything, but 200 dollars was charged to my account from Macon Georgia. One of the employees took a joy ride with my account at the nail salon. I have been trying to get just points, calling choice hotels and still nothing. I demanded a full refund and it's just been this garbage game of "ring around the rosie" calling the hotel, calling choice hotels, waiting to speak with the general manager, waiting to speak to the hotel manager, waiting to talk to the owner and nothing has happened. They can't be bothered to give me a full refund. DISGUSTING SERVICE IF YOU VALUE YOUR SECURITY DO NOT GO HERE THEY WILL STEAL YOUR DEBIT CARD INFORMATION
Called to make reservations for Hurricane Irma and was given the price and confirmation number from the owners wife. After seeing the storm shift out of our area, we called more than 24 hours prior to our reservations to cancel. The woman at the front desk couldn't find our reservations at all. She got in contact with the owners wife and she stated she never put the reservations in at all. She couldn't even find our confirmation number that was given, and stated since it was never put in the system, we shouldn't be charged at all. The woman couldn't give me a cancellation confirmation since there were no reservations set to begin with. That same evening, we called our bank to let them know there shouldn't be any charges from a hotel in Macon. Days later, we review our recent activity and were charged an amount we've never heard, from one of the hotels they own. Now dealing with the bank and the hotels phone is unreachable. VERY SKETCHY, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.
